MTI MICRO FUEL CELLS CONDUCTS PLANT TOURS FOR SHAREHOLDER

Mechanical Technology, Incorporated ("MTI") (NASDAQ: MKTY) today held its annual meeting of shareholders at its corporate headquarters in Albany, NY. As part of the event, shareholders were given tours conducted by principal engineers, scientists, executives and technicians of MTI´s subsidiary, MTI MicroFuel Cells, Inc. ("MTI Micro").

Guests were shown laboratories for existing and future fuel cell development, chemical and electrical shops, the developmental pilot production line and clean rooms, and several testing sections. At the conclusion of the tours, all attendees were given the chance to see and hold examples of our Mobion® power source prototypes. Different applications for the Mobion® power source were demonstrated, including Mobion® external power charger prototypes used to charge a cell phone, digital camera and a portable media player; a Mobion® attached power source camera grip prototype; and the embedded Mobion® powered GPS prototype and smartphone concept model.

This is the first time that members of the public have been allowed inside MTI Micro´s laboratories.
